    Your mission :
    The EPFL Blue Brain Project (BBP), situated on the Campus Biotech in Geneva, Switzerland, applies advanced neuroinformatics, data analytics, high-performance computing and simulation-based approaches to the challenge of understanding the structure and function of the mammalian brain in health and disease. The BBP provides the community with regular releases of data, models and tools to accelerate neuroscience discovery and clinical translation through open science and global collaboration.
    We are currently looking for a Transcriptome-based Cell Placement Postdoctoral Scholar to strengthen our Molecular Systems team. The successful candidate will join a team-wide effort to obtain the cellular composition of the next version of the brain simulation. The scientist will use transcriptomes from different regions of the brain to assign cell-type specific densities in those regions and link cell types to properties such as electrophysiology and morphology.
     
    Main duties and responsibilities include :
    • Develop algorithms for cell-placement
    • Work closely with engineers to ensure quality code
    • Write scientific papers and attend conferences
    Your profile :
    • PhD in Neuroscience or Biology
    • Programming skill in Python
    • Prior experience using brain atlases
    • Competence in mathematics and statistics
